Community acupuncture is a model of care that provides low-cost acupuncture treatments in a shared, and welcoming group setting. Patients are treated simultaneously in a comfortable, open space, allowing clinics to lower costs while maintaining high-quality care. Each person receives individualized treatment based on their needs, but the group setting fosters a sense of community and collective healing. This approach makes acupuncture accessible to a broader population and emphasizes affordability, inclusivity, and wellness for all.

Most of the time, when we are going through the most stressfull time of our lifes are also the periods where we don’t have the most financial resources. So this style of acupuncture allows people in need to find the help they need at an affordable price.

As chronic issues require repetitive sessions, community acupuncture can be the best option depending on your resources.

At your first session, I will give you a health questionnaire to fill asking you about your general health.

You will choose then where you want to lie down and get set up with pillows and blankets. After lying down, you will receive body acupuncture (mainly on your legs and ankles, wrists and hands) in order to relax and help with anything you are currently going through.

The needles are applied for 20-35min with a relaxing music. You can bring your own music and headphones if you want too. The needles will be removed and then you can program your next appointment.

Private acupuncture has a different approach as it takes place in a one-on-one setting, offering complete privacy. I focus on your health in a holistic way and provides you with nutritional recommendations, herbal medicine, cupping and massage and this will be more expensive due to the variety of tools, personalized and exclusive nature of the session.

In community acupuncture, treatments occur in a shared, open space where multiple patients are treated simultaneously. The environment is quiet and supportive, but without complete privacy. It is designed to be more affordable. This approach focuses on simple, effective needling techniques to address common health concerns, often emphasizing efficiency and accessibility.

Community acupuncture can help with a wide range of physical, emotional, and mental health concerns, similar to private acupuncture. Common conditions it addresses include:

1. Pain Management

  • Chronic pain (e.g., back pain, neck pain, arthritis).
  • Headaches and migraines.

2. Stress and Mental Health

  • Anxiety and depression.
  • Stress reduction and relaxation.
  • Sleep disorders, including insomnia.

3. Women’s Health

  • Menstrual irregularities, cramps, and PMS.
  • Menopause symptoms.

4. Digestive Health

  • Issues like constipation, bloating, and nausea.
  • Support for appetite regulation and digestion.

5. Immune and Respiratory Health

  • Strengthening the immune system.
  • Managing allergies and colds.

6. General Wellness

  • Boosting energy levels and reducing fatigue.
  • Supporting recovery from illness.
  • Promoting overall balance and well-being.

Community acupuncture is particularly effective for chronic conditions requiring consistent treatments, as its affordability and accessibility make it easier for patients to receive care regularly.

We invite you to wear loose clothing and to bring along what will make their treatment most comfortable. This could be headphones to listen to a meditation or calming music, a blanket and/or an eye mask if you wish.
